oil pump conclusion :(

ok so if you read my post from the ohter day you know my problem and the conclusion is that i need to drop the pan and change the pump out. i need to know what all is involved in that like do i need to take out the transmission or just the distributor and jack it up???? it is a tpi motor if thatll help. please let me know if you have done this before.me and my friend will be doing this tomorrow nite at the shop he works at

Transmission: THM350 (Getting a 4L80E soon)
Axle/Gears: 10 Bolt w/ 2.43 gears :(
Just make sure you don't crush the dist. cap against the firewall when you raise the engine.
