Im almost positive the Fleetwood in 94 got an LT1 same as the Caprice/Impala/Roadmaster/Custom Cruiser

Check the VIN if you can 8th digit should be a "P" and of course if you can check RPO's its LT1

In which case if it IS an LT1 - No your TPI won't work, but yes your 700 will with all the usual issues of swaping an LT1.

If it is an LT1, why even try to use TPI? You'll just lose all the benefit of going to an LT1.

He couldn't use TPI on an LT1 anyways SBC I vs SBC II.

If he did get the motor it would be to just drop the LT1 in as others are doing including myself, and sell the TPI or use it for another project.

It's the ROC, who much is this guy asking for the engine, PCM wiring harness, accessories so on .... also can you get the tranny as well?

if you can get all that stuff for a good price, then it will make a fine swap in your car.

Actually he could just the same the LT1 intake is used on Gen 1 SBC. The question just comes up why you would want to.

If you give up trying to get the lt1 fuel injection working they sell carb intakes for the lt1 engines now.

i'll have to check the VIN. but he said he'll sell the engine for 50$ but the TPI for 150$ ? he says the engine came out of some old ladys fleetwood so it not beat and has low milage. it just sounds to good to be true.. and i dont know if the car will pass emissions,im from california and our emission laws suck. thanks for all the input.

Be certain it is a 94, as they look identical to 91-93 and those years got 5.7 TBI engines.

but if it is a true in true 94 it should be LT1 motivated.

No, you'd want an LT1 intake setup .

HEHEHE yes you could use the TPI setup you have and as Pasky added you could pick up a converted LT1 intake from (drum roll please!!!!)

LT1intake.com

heheh, but you would want to pull the heads off the TBI 350 and throw them into the nearest river/swamp/rednecks back yard.
and find a decent set ... someone upgrading the L98 would have those heads and they aren't bad for stock casting.

So ya first off you need to confirm if it is a 350 TBI or LT1, and that's easy if it is in the car ... pop the hood, if you see the typical carb aircleaner you have TBI if you see a giant black homeplate looking plastic airbox ... you have LT1.

Just to reiterate, all '94-'96 Fleetwood Broughams came with the 5.7 LT1 engine, before they (and the Caprice/Impala) were cancelled at the end of the '96 model year. '91-'93 Broughams had either the 305 or 350 TBI engine (LO3, LO5). I used to work at a Caddy dealer back in that era as a line mechanic. I remember driving those big ole land yachts, and they used to scoot pretty good with the LT1 engine.
