Lt1-w/vette Acc, Valve Cover ???
Lt1-w/vette Acc, Valve Cover ???
Has anyone heard of or using aftermarket valve covers for the LT1 with Corvette accesoires??
I bought some aluminum ones off E-bay, had them chromed and they won't work with my Vette accessories!!!!!! Only F-body accesiores.
The problem is the valve covers I have are not intercahnable to where the alternator cut out will fit on the drivers side front. I would really like to have chrome covers instead of the black composite one's. Anyone heard of or have aftermarket valve covers with Corvette acciesoires??

Wow that is a lot. And they aren't even chrome just polished so you would have to maintain them.
I did spend about $90.00 for the covers the chroming I don't know as I did a bunch of stuff together at least $75 went towards the covers i'm sure. I have spent $550.00 in having parts chromed and powdercoated so far so I am a little crazy but $324. is just to much for covers I think.
Funny thing is those look just like the ones I have (minus chrome and those would fit ).
Thanx for the info I guess I will go with the black composite covers. I took a picture of the covers (now for sale) on the engine so you could see how well they turned out and why I wanted to stay with chrome ....but the picture is too big to attach. Anyone know how to "downsize" a j-peg???

Instead of buying new valve covers, you could try to relocate the alternator to a different location allowing you to run your current valve covers.
One thing I'm looking into for a future project of mine is using the alternator and powersteering mounts of the F-Body acc. bracket and using the A/C mount of the corvette acc. bracket, or something along those lines, to keep the bottom areas of the engine compartment clear. Looks like it could work pretty good, just might need a extra tensioner in strategic locations and a different belt.

Here they are available with the notch on the side of your choice, little less than the LPE's

You may also want to just pick out a set of other aftermarket covers and clearance for them, im not sure how far back the vette setup sits, but I was able to fit a set of GMPP covers with a negligible amount of clearancing on the back of my F body alternator.
