I've gotten my new 350.... well used, new 350. It's outa '75 C-10 (block numbers will come as a find them... where should they be..?). I want to build it up b4 it goes in as to easy the pain of some of the swaps i had planned, a cam and the such arent easy in car swaps.

Here's what i have so far, tell me if this is good or what i need to get:
im trying to keep a streetable, trackable car. Price is a lilttle concern im on a budget but if i want it ill save for it. Emissions is no concern.

Starting from the top:
* I have an Edelbrock Performer 650cfm( eventually i want demon tho)

* Weiand Stealth intake: idle-7200

*MSD ultimate HEI rebuild, and MSD super HEI kit( keeping my distriuter but rebuilding it and tehn using the Super HEI kit)

edit: *im looking at moroso ultra 40 wires

gotta go to work... cam and more to come so hold out on ur response for now....

The casting # is just in front of the bell housing mount on the top driver's side of the block.

Are you currently running TBI? If so, you can't keep your current distributor.

Didn't need to know what cam you're running to anwer those questions.

What are you trying to accomplish with this build? What heads are they, probably crap? Look under a valve cover to find the casting #. What is the budget?

im carbed right now.... the objective is a street/strip car. daily driver. i want it to be fast and mean.

*have an electric fan already

*keeping my hooker supercomp headers

*keeping 3in, no cats, true dual exhaust

*im looking at either a true double roller timing chain, or a belt drvie. differences in performance?? reliability??

*lunati streetmaster hydraulic cam and lifter kit Adv. Duration 275degrees Gross lift .477" ( i want a good powerband around 1500- redline/6000) i want a mean idle too w/o the loss of drivability. im willing to get a vacuum resevoir if needed

*should i upgrage rockers and pushrods? roller rockers? upgrade springs? i dont really want to mess with the heads much becuz ive never done it b4. valve lash and all that scares me a lil.

*heads are expensive so they would come later... i need to finish this engine b4 my current one throws a rod.

*i have a spare mech. water pump but i plan on getting an electrical one when budget permits. aerospace components electrical pump: 5.5lbs weight, 4amp draw, 37 gpm

*i know i need new brackets for acc. im removing all a/c components and may be getting the electrical pump if brakets are price permiting. i want to stay with serpentine belt

*im looking into underdriving pulleys. comments, suggestions?? which should i get?

*aeromotive streep/strip electrical fuel pump: 125gph 8 psi. aeromotive carbureted adjustable regulator 5-12 psi. aeromotive reusabole billet inline fuel filter

*build up my 700r4 or get a TCI?? good streetable Torque COnverter?

*i want to not mess with the stock lower end. 75000mi on it so its fine for now.

*moroso streep/strip f-body oil pan: deep sump, 6quart capacity, trapdoor baffling

block # is 3970010
head # is 3986339 passenger side
head # is 3998881 driver side

im not sure but should these numbers be the same?? this is out of a 1975 c-10. its 4bolt main. where online can i find my specs for my engine.

edit:
block # is 3970010 is 1969-1980 2 or 4 bolt main

head # is 3986339 passenger side is from: 71...307/350....74cc

head # is 3998881 driver side: only thing that is close is 3998991....72-73...307/350......75cc chambers

74cc and 75cc chambers..... ugh what kinda performance with this produce. i assume its gunna be not so good

Yes, the head numbers should be the same, someone has replaced one or both of them at some point.

My '79 350 has kinda the same problem.... an 882 on one side, and a 624 on the other. Both are about equally bad though, so no worries.

Moretec.com

They have some head specs, but odds are, both heads suck, just like mine.
