ok so i want to swap out my 305 tbi for a LS1. and i starting to prepare my car for it. I want to put the LM exaust on my car.I want to put the slp long tube headers on my car also. but i was told it wont bolt up because the 305 head are different from the LS1 heads. Is this true? Now with transplanting the LS1 into my car with i need anyting special to do make this swap happen? or can i just drop it in?

 

First: You can't "start" the swap by putting LS1 things on the 305. There's no similarity between them except for the Bowtie.

Second: This is an engine swap question, so I'll move this over there.

Third: There is a stickie at the top of that forum about the LS1 swap, so look it over. If you have questions that it doesn't answer, do the ol' search thing. Then, if there are still questions not answered, go ahead and come back for answers.

Almost anything for the LS1 is not going to fit your current engine, headers no way in this country, or any other on this planet, you can put a catback on thats about the only drivetrain improvement that will cross over, otherwise look at some suspension parts, they wont hurt now, and after the swap they'll definetly serve their purpose.
