'82-'83 4-speed manual or 3-speed auto will work.
Or get one from Spohn that'll mount the torque arm as well.

My 84 was originally a 2.8 5 speed. The stock crossmember worked without any modifications when switching to a v8. I did buy the B&M tranny torque arm mount to hook up the torque arm.

Guess it wouldn't matter. The bellhousing to crossmember mount distance would be the same regardless of tailshaft length.

crossmembers the same
have to get B&M or similar torque arm mounting kit if the tranny you are putting in does not have the holes through the tailshaft housing for the bolts- Ie a tranny not stock factory for an 82-up F body
ive been through all this with the th350 swap in my 82 t/a
good luck

Later chassis used a longer transmission - the mount was farther back in the chassis than it was in '82/'83 with 3-speed automatic or 4-speed manual.
When you go to a TH350 in a car that came with a 5-speed manual or TH700, you need to move the mount location forward a couple of inches. The bellhousing to mount distance on a TH700 (or 5-speed) is 22-1/2", same dimension for a TH350 is 20-3/8".
