Pre '87 350 in a TPI setup
i have a '91 z28 i recently bought for $300 off of a friend. it had a 305 tpi engine that ran perfect until the motor blew out without warning. he didnt have the money to fix it so he sold it to me. anyway i find it hard to find a 350 longblock engine that i can just bolt on and drive. i was wondering if a pre 1987 350 cid engine would work or if it would even fit properly under the tpi system. or if any modification needs to be done to make it work. also the same information for an lt1 engine, whats needs to be done to make this work with the tpi setup. thanks in advance for any help on this subject.

Any pre-87 350 will work. You'll just need to use heads that have accessory holes to mount things up (305 heads will do with proper gaskets and pistons), and a 153-tooth flexplate for two-piece rear main seal design crank.
but you are better off finding a newer block, also it doesn't have to be from an f-body, you can use the short block from b-bodys (caprice/roadmasters) and so on.
that way you will have a roller block, and you can use your current flywheel/flexplate.
