So im in a dilema.. 305 or tranny or deal with 2.8 or what!! help me

Alright so my v6 700r4 wont bolt up to a v8 engine, which i planned it would untill alittle research says it doesnt! I'm building up a 350 this winter, getting her for christmas. And i planned to use my tranny.. that wont work which means i need a trans.

I found a 305 automatic that runs for around 200-300 $..question is im thinken about buying the whole car, its at the junk yard. Think i should just take out my whole v6 2.8 with tranny chuck it for the mean time for a back up, then throw in the 305 and just build my motor up.. or should i just get this transmission and deal with a frigin v6 till i finish my motor.. would the v6 to a 305 .. feel a power difference?

my 350 will probably take some time to build say done by the end of next september... what do yous say i should do.. by this car use it as a parts car.. thing runs right.. just swap it all in my car or what.. im 16 yous probably have run into some similar debates at one time.. thanks for your time in reading my thread

buy the 305 car so you have a donor car for the swap. When the 350 is ready, do the swap. Sell the 2.8 stuff to recoupe some of the swap $$$$, or just throw it into rolling chassis & see what you cain get for it all.

You are as others have said FAR better off to buy the entire 305 car as a donor- you need more than just the tranny! Mounts are different, depending on what year 6 you have the radiator is different, and you haven't said if you are going carb on this 350 or FI- In any case, some re- plumbing is needed on the fuel supply.

If your 6 is running now and you need to drive the car, don't rip it apart until you have all your parts together to do the job in a semi orderly fashion.

READ THE STICKY for V6-V8 swap, it covers this stuff.

And don't plan on this being a "one weekend" deal!
