Will Gen 4 motor mounts fit Gen 3
I'm doing a V6 to V8 swap, and am having a hard time finding the complete 82-92 V8 mounts for the swap .
I found a nice complete used set off a 1997 Camaro LT1 350 engine. Will these work ?

Can I buy both the motor side & the frame side ? I need the complete set for the swap.
I've read that one half or the other was not a part offered in a parts store, that it was a "dealer only" part.
thanks,

Holy **** I know your pain bud! Try the wreckers and ask for them there, not like they won't have a ton of them lying about, but make sure you specify the motor side or clamshell type mounts.

What you'll typically see at the JY is a vehicle shell with no engine/transmission. Occasionally they'll have a blown engine, which nobody wants, so those parts will still be there. Getting them out will require lifting the engine, which not all JYs are very willing to do for just these small, inexpensive parts. But, you've got to try (or, try the classifieds on this board - can't hurt).
What I wish I'd done is just remove the entire crossmember. That'll get you the mounts, brake line, and front springs. Unless the mounts are totally wasted (not likely), you won't have to fuss with those pesky inner mount nuts. Even if you do decide to replace them, it'll be less hassle than trying to do it on the car (pull the a-arms out while you're at it for installation of poly bushings, and those nuts will be staring at you).

just call around to the wrecking yards(junk yards) and ask for the clam shell mounts off of an older small block v8 chevy you shouldnt have to pay more than 20 bucks for a pair .......they are every where ....
or you can call the dealership and pay 110 bucks for a set ...i know we called when we did my brothers swap ...its rediculous ...
