I'd build a 421sbc with it.
Eagle has a nice 4340 Forged crank for only $665.71.
Just use a 3.875" stroke crankshaft
Using the 4.00" requires quite a bit of machine work and costs almost $300 more.
There's a really nice 3rd Gen T/A at the drag strip here running a 421sbc.
I see him pretty often, I know he's using a GM 400 block with the 3.875" Eagle crank.
Just my
Let us know what you're goals are.
Turbo- EFI or Carb?
Spray- How much nitrous you plan on using?

Im doing the same thing as this guy, I wanna run a cc carb, and spray 150 shot most of the time but maybe 250 shot
I wanted to know how much I could stoke it up to. I was told 427, but with the 4" crank prolly does need work done to the the block. 421 sounds like a good idea.
I was thinking of using Edlebrock Prefromer RPM head cam and intake.
Is that a good idea?
any suggestions, I already have the block, my goal is 500 hp as streetable as possible, b4 the nitrous shot.

if you build a 421ci use AFR 210 or even the 220cc heads.
Call a cam manufacturer for the cam

Spend the money wisely on the heads since they dictate your power. Defineatly wil not go wrong with AFR's. If your going to build a 421cid the 210's are about maxed out for NA power that does'nt require alot of block work and specialized valvetrain. Anything bigger cubic inch wise you should look at the 227's.
Only things flowing close to AFR out of the box are bigger Dart Pro 1's that have been worked over as well as Brodix,... Edelbrocks's are'nt even close. So you will be money ahead buying AFR's that flow waay more than other brands that will require yet another investment to have somebody work them over.
Your gonna want the strongest shortblock possible if turbo plus spray so forged is obvious. Achieveing 500hp N/A is pretty simple and with the right components easily streetible. Jsut takes money to do it so it's reliable 500hp.
