Well, there you have it. With an A4, I was getting 16mpg local and 20 on a trip with my TPI. Haven't heard of M6 cars getting much over 23 with TPI, so TBI may actually be more efficient mileage wise by the sounds of it.

Is this TBI motor equipped with the swirl port heads?
Could it be possible that those heads actually have something going for them in terms of fuel efficiency? Cause it's hard to imagine that a TBI would be more efficient than a TPI with multipoint EFI, everything else being equal. If you know what I mean...

That's one thing swirl-port heads do well is mix up the fuel charge and help get good MPG, when my car was new and stock it would avg . about 22 MPG and get 28-32 MPG on long trips, even running 75 mph with the AC going. I remember getting well over 400 miles to a tank on several cross country trips I made. I just didn't have enough power.

I got 29 on the road with my L03 T-5 w/3.08's @ 75 w/AC on.
I got 32 on the road w/TPI on my L03 w/3.27's (yeah, swirl port heads)
