83 Lg4 --> 88 L98
After almost a year of being off the road.....Im hoping to bring this thing to life. I thought it would be running by now but people are lazy and so am I.
Last september my uncle and I pulled my oil burning, peg legged dog of an LG4. My donor car was an 88 L98. No more than half way through the swap we found out I needed a different flywheel and new clutch. 350+ dollars later I had a new flywheel and dual friction clutch. The 350 went in nicely and he swapped my 9 bolt in the rear. My uncle is almost 40 and has been a struggling mechanic who mostly worked on trucks. The wiring is what confused him. We got the entire engine wiring harness and computer.
Today it sits in a garage with no wiring harness on it and a new one waiting to go on from an 88 305 5-speed because I wanted to keep the five speed. We swapped the fuel tanks and have the fuel pump in. I had it running for about 30 minutes at one time a few months ago after some kid hacked the hell out of my harness and jimmy rigged a wire from the fuel pump to a power source.
What I am trying to figure out is after we hook the new harness up and it hooks to the ECM the UNDERDASH is where all of it stops, the connector was cut and do we have to re-wire this whole car? Where does the underdash wiring hook into? How much of a headache is it going to be and how long will i expect this to take? The original donor car is long gone but we have the 88 t-5 car sitting right next to it now and I want to make sure we get everything from it that I need before it takes its last trip alive. Thanks for reading the long post and any input or advice is always welcome.

I took the entire dash out of the donor car swapped the harness to the receptor car. I had to figure out some differences between the two where it connected to the rear chassis harness, but I did manage to get it all working. I couldn't use the rear harness out of the donor car because it was mangled from being rear-ended. You might be able to get all you need out of the later donor car.

Im scared oh my! I wash chilling with my friends and one had the score
We then played some D&D (were nerds too) My car friends are very entertaining. Because usually there is some great music, entertainment via television or some conversation. I plan on going to school about cars because some day I want to have a shop. Here is a question. How many of you own shops or have access to one readily. The great thing is i can get most of my schooling paid for so it is some definite motivation. Holy crap this song has a september 11th message. Jesus. sorry I just realized this. I think I won't have a problem figuring this out and plus I get to convert to an electric dash! No more speedo cable! My car is an 83 so I don't have many luxary options. Im slowly bringing a twenthiet century car to the 21st century levels of technology! I want to get some new 4th gen seats! so far I have GTA tail lights and GTA wheels! I think i will work on some progress pictures. Thanks a ton Five
(and for listening to the ravings of a young madman)
