Couple ?'s

ok i got a 91 rs with a 3.1.. Well im bout to swap in either a 350 or 305 tpi.. I read the sticky at the top and it says i need to change alot of stuff.. Well i was told that the harness was the same except i would have to lengthen some connections and add 2 more injector wires.. Is that something easy or would i be better off just getting a harness from a donor car? Also i heard i could use the v6 ecm and just change the chip.. Im getting the engine for really cheap (bout 2-300) and the v6 is on its last leg so im looking for alternatives.. And right now this is the cheapest.. And yes i did

yes get the harness, certain yrs could just swap the chips in the ecm, but you should do another for which ones (I don't think the 3.1 was one of those)

ECM is same, chip is different, dependent upon which motor specifically the car got, you could modify your harness.

You may want to look into swapping an LT1 instead of a tpi motor.

Dont listen to tommy, his way to resolve anythign is "swap in an LT1"

hehe you know im kiddin you, tommys very good with the turdgens, id take his advice, but id say on a budget lt1 will be alot of headaches and pretty pricey.

btw tommy we need to get out to the track, i saw your girls RS around the other day, doesnt sound to "crazy" exhaust wise.. im sure ill give her a run.. except i burn tires all the way through 2nd gear and half in 3rd lo, still havent been to the track though, i tried to go a few weeks ago and i got there late, they wouldnt let me run.. hour drive for nothign lemme know trhough, i NEED to get to the track sooooon.. i need some adrenaline hehe

rep the turds!

Careful that thing doesnt do jack until its manually shifted you saw her running around in OD, it shifts at a lame 4500 and dont do jack, it wakes up a bit when you drop it into first and dont touch the shifter till the needle is about at its end

An LT1 is a lot less headaches than most thing, and can be done quite cheap if someone actually wants to do so.
