Swap problem
Hey guys i have a problem with my TA. Its a 1986 Trans AM. I have a 94 LT1,4l60e trans and 9 inch rear. When im driving around and the car is in 3rd gear and i step on the gas. The car makes a clunk sounds like something is banging but there are no marks under the car and the tranny mount isnt ripped. Also when the car revs past 4500 rpm there is a horrible vibration in the car until it shifts gears. I have had the driveshaft and tires balanced, no difference. I think it might be caused due to a driveshaft angle misalignment. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them? Or does anyone know of a driveline specalist that might be able to fix this problem?
Thanks
Tom

Thinking about it, it may not be transmission related. What about the rest of the setup? The motor mounts are in good shape correct? No exhuast leaks? I know on one of my other cars I had a vibration after 3500 rpm and found out it was a broken tubular exhaust manifold. Just something else to chew on.
