i'm getting this really good deal on a parts camaro that I need the trans outta, but it has a 5.0 in it as well....i was originally going to just build up my 350 that i have now, and put a small blower on it so i could get around 300RWHP......but i've been thinking, what if i take that 5.0 out and that'll give me something to wrench on for a while, and when its done, drop that in with like a th400 or built up th350 trans.....but now for the motor, how much does it have to be bored out with a 350 crank to get 335CID....30 over or 60 over?? or can you go more just becuase its s 5.0??? also i want to add a supercharger into the mix...what do you guys suggest I do??? i want to make possibly 10lbs or even greater of boost, you think this can be done??also does anybody have a ballpark figure on how much this would all cost??? i'm going with a carb setup, i know there is a guy on here with a TPI335stroker, the carb setup might be a bit cheaper...

A 305 with a 350 crank will be a 305. Boring the engine to .060" over will yield 315 cubic inches with either a 305 or 350 crank.
In case you hadn't gathered it yet, both the 305 and 350 have a 3.48" stroke.
The safest it's typically safe to bore a factory block is .060" over, assuming no power adders. However, you want to do a power adder, so that wouldn't be safe.
Boring out a block for the purpose of increasing power via additional cubic inches is typically ill advised. You bore out cylinders in order to give the piston & rings a good surface against which to run and seal.
If you want to do a power adder, your best bets are to do it to a stock 305 block, or go find a 350 block to build for the task. Putting a 3.75" stroke crank in a 305 is a good way to spend your money poorly.
The ballpark figure on how much it would cost is "more". As in, it will always cost more than you think it will.

i'm sorry i meant a 400 crank....i've read up on these, and i know they make a lot of lowend torque, but they don't make much powr across the RPM band like after 3,000 RPMS......so that is why i thought about a supercharger, that would help it breathe....and then i'd prolly run like 350 heads or something because that would help compression ratio to get down....i see alot of people don't like the idea, but i'm getting this car next to nothin and i already have a buyer for the trans, so actually the car is only gonna cost me like 75 bucks, plus i can part the whole body out.....so what do you guys think, still go with a 350??

Unless you really like spending more money to get less power, go with a 350.

I agree, if your gonna be shooting air down it, your gonna have to rebuild the short block anyways, get a 350 block and just have a machinist rebuild that. Hell I think a 350 (just the block) will go for like, $100. I find them in newspapers all the time. Hell, I found a 454 out of a truck, the entire shortblock, for $150.

Keep the 350, especially if your gonna supercharge it, the bigger bore allows for better airflow...which would make your supercharger & motor use the added boost to its advantage
