Too many variables in the equation. If it is a truck motor with a crappy cam and dished pistons, you may not make much more than you do now. If it has flattops and a "decent" cam, you may make close to it, but not at the wheels.
Ideally, if you are going to use your 305 top end, you need to port the heads (easy to do, search for a user named sitting bull, he has an article on it in his sig) and have 350 sized valves installed (1.94 1.50 or 1.60 exhaust). If you plan on using the stock exhaust that is on the car, you may as well forget about gaining much of anything. That exhuast will need to be replaced with something that flows decently.

The most economical way HP/$'s-wise to increase the cubic inches of a 305 is to get a 350 shortblock. Stroking a 305 is an exercise is spending money ill-advisedly.
Doing what ljnowell suggested, along with a decent cam (and of course exhaust) will wake up a 305. I know this first hand. I also know the next step, as you can see from the sig.
