watch your tach the next time you go from complete stop to WOT. when the car starts to really "pull" and is in the power range, really start to pay attention to the tach. you should look to get a converter with a stall of a few hundred rpm's above that point. if the car starts to really haul at 2200, look to get a converter with about a 2500rpm stall.

hope this helps.

2500 Stall is a good fit for a daily driver & performance.

does that fit his carb/intake/cam/gears combo though? these are things people over look when they say "just slap a 2500stall in it!"

Without knowing your cam specs, its damn near impossible, that and what type of heads you have. Need to have a rough idea where the power will come in, without duration of cam, no suggestions can really be made.

if you go to http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/index.html
and go to "Valve Train Components" then "Camshaft & Lifter Kits" and go to "Chevy 265-350 V8" it states the specs (performer-plus)

Holy crap, that is one slow and lazy cam. Look at the difference between Adv. duration and measured. That thing is horrible. If you dont already have that cam installed, I wouldnt. That being said. A 2500 should suit it reasonably well, if it were me, I would go for a 2800.

Make sure you get an aftermarket cooler for whatever you decide to buy.
