327 viable swap?
I was wondering if any one else has done one and if a smaller high reving engine is worth it.

you have to understand and we realize your new, its just this like the topics of "Will a fourthgen rear end fit in my thirdgen?" Its been asked numerous times and frankly we just get sick of answering it. Don't take me as coming off as rude but if you do a search you'll find great info that has been discussed on this site. If you have already searched please say so in your post so we know you understand the fundamentals and can discuss the advanced tech. Welcome aboard.

327's are great little engines. I love the big bore short stroke combo.
I had a 327 in my truck, and my dad has a 327 in his 84 camaro.
His 84 with a mild 327 +.060" over, 9.18:1, 3.23 gears, single exhaust, th-350 trans runs in the mid 13's with the MPH to go high 12's
IMO if your gonna go with a 327 you'll need deeper gears than 3.23 though. His may run those numbers, but it's still pretty tame out of the hole and could be alot faster with 3.73 or better gears and a 3000 or so stall
If you go with a 327 remember it's a smaller engine that makes less low rpm torque and more top end power, so dont over do the cam, heads, intake, etc
You would use a cam alittle smaller than you would in a 350, and same with heads. 190 cc heads will be of no use on a street driven 327.
Now if its a race car, run a big cam, and heads, build the bottom end strong, gear it to cross the traps at above 7000 rpm and let her rev to the moon and back
