2.8 swap to 3.1
i bought my firebird a almost a year ago...drove the snot out of it...and now ive broke it!!...meh what can u do...?
i was gonna swap in a carb 305 outa my 86 chev impala...but since i dont have a donnar F-Body i donr have endine mounts, exhaust, tranny, fuel pumps, proper gauges and all the other lil thing that the donnar car would give me...
now im only 18 and my budget sux! that rules out me getting used ones shipped here or buying new ones
so...i have done some digging and found out that a 2.8 and a 3.1 are one and the same...just bigger bore and stroke...i can get a running 3.1 cheap but what i donnt no is...
do they wire up the same?
would a fwd casting be diff from the rwd bolt holes and stuff?
would i need to change/upgrade fuel lines/pumps?
i no this isent a typical swap...and most of u might not know anything a bout a 3.1....but any help would be much appreciated!

The 3.1 would have to be from a RWD application...that way everything will bolt up. Get a 3.4 if you can (93-95 F body), everything will swap over from your existing engine. Do a search on the V6 forum, there is tons of good info there.
