First, calm down. Wasn't even 2 hrs between your initial post and the nagging followup.

Second, plug your VATS bypass module back in and re-test.

Third, find out what "some kind of hardware for this to work" means and post it here. Need the specifics that he told you.

I thought that Vats turned the injectors off, not the fuel pump? No? LT1's may be different.

Have you checked all fuses and such? Have you tried hot wiring the fuel pump?

One thing I've found out is my fuel pump relay wire isn't giving enough power to close the relay and enable the fuel pump, I'm taking my PCM back to have it checked and make sure that the VATS is turned off.

Do you get the prime when you turn the key on? If not, more than likely VATS is still enabled in the PCM.

4th gen cars VATS turns the fuel pump off instead of the injectors. You can crank the car all day but it ain't gonna start.

You sure that's the "expert" you want working on your PCM?

You didn't indicate that in your post...in that case it's time to whip out your scanner and check for codes, then RPM indication during cranking.

It's like a car wreck on the highway, lots of people look but doesn't mean they're about to get out and help

the one thing on the vats is, when i got the computer hooked up (forgot to hook up the vats) i got the prime. then nothing. I hooked up the bypass module it ran. so i cant see how the vats is doing that when i was getting the prime. now i am not even getting that. but i do agree with you on getting the codes. the cat will run with the fuel pump hot wired and the relay is good. so i quess the computer is messed up in some way. I need to send it back to him to get it redone. inless someone has a idea what is wrong. thanks for your replies

Just run your fuel pump off a manual switch if its too much trouble.

And when you wreck, be sure you're conscious and turn it off before the car burns up w/ you in it.

I like the PCM managing the fuel pump personally, good safety feature.

So you did check to see if the PCM was sending 12V to the Fuel pump relay? This really dosent make sense, if the Vats is still in there, why would act up after you reinstalled the Vats bypass module. Surely theres no way to screw up the programing to where it totally shuts off the fuel pump circuit? Send it back to him I guess, or find someone else to look at it.

You shouldn't even need the Bypass module if you disable vats in the pcm. I say get yourself a laptop, interface cable, software, and diagnose it yourself

Fine wire it up manually, but wire a ford interia switch in series. Problem solved.

i cant believe that some one said to run a manual switch on a stock pump???????????? thanks for the advise but no thanks. I am and sending it back to the guy, after talking to him he had flashed the computer with it being a manual tranny. seeing how i told him Im not using the tranny harness, i have a 700r4, he seems to think it has something to do with that. so he is going to put it back to a auto and reconfigure it with just the power tune and the egr/ smog pump delete and return everything else to factory. I think that will repair the problem seeing how the harness is for a auto, i think the computer is confused. I will let you all know what happens after i get it back.

and on the get a interface cable i have one in the harness its just money got tight and didnt have the money for the 300.00 program and the 1000.00 laptop. so i went that route to get the car running. thanks for the replies. sean
