i was also wondering what some problems people have run into doing this swap.

ive read through that, i was looking for a bit more specific info.

what casting number for the exhaust manifolds fit with the least amount of hacking? does the oil pan fit with the stock k-member? is there any problems with the distributor and the firewall?

most of the stock pontiac manifolds fit well, the stock pan fits fine, and there's tons of room between the firewall and the distributor. there's a bunch of pics on that stickey from another link I posted. This swap, seems to be ALOT more popular than previously thought on this board, so.. there's plenty of things out there to make it work on the cheap. I'm doing the same swap.

oh and i picked up a '66 389 tripower today. and a 79 th-400. the engine was rebuilt with a bunch of good ****. it should be in the 450-500hp range. i have to figure somthing out about my intake and carb setup tho. i think it would be badass to put the tripower on, but the damn thing is SO F'ing heavy.

im also working on some pics of the whole swap.

You sould really read thru the swap sticky. all these questions are in there. but I use the stock 3rd gen radiator for now, the exhaust needs to be custom fab'd which is also in the stiky with a BUNCH of pics. and with that kind of HP and the sheer torque, oyou're definitly going to be breaking the rear end and twisting the car quite a bit. you'll need sub frame connectors and such too.
