350 swap on 92 RS

ok everyone here's what im doing......


im buy a '92 350 tpi longblock from www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com heres the link------

heres my questions about this swap...

Will my starter bolt up to this motor?

Will my accesories bolt up (power steering and all that stuff....im pretty sure it will but just making sure)?

the motor is a 2 peice rear main seal...do i need a diff. flywheel also? ( i have the L03 tbi)

im keeing the tbi setup...and i think i need 350 injectors, 350 esc module...is there anything else? i have a few more questions/comments...but ill save them for after i get this stuff cleared up...

That engine has a one piece rear main seal, not two, and everything off of your 305 will bolt onto it.

thanks a lot.

is the esc module and the 350 injectors all ill need for the new motor. also....whatsize injectors...i was thinking 55 lb.
i want to make around 300 horsepower at the wheels with this motor...will an lt1 cam be enough to support this or should i get a different one.

just a few more questions....not specifically engine swap though...but here goes.... does the 454 tbi have 2 inch bores and can the edelbrock tbi manifold be bored out to accept 2 inch bores (i beleive it can).

300 at the wheels is a lot for TBI and you would need a much healthier cam than the LT1. The 454 unit is indeed 2" and the edelbrock TBI intake can be bored to 2" as well. I would go larger on the injectors simply because fuel limits these motors and not air flow. You are going to need a lot of chip work with any set-up you go with. I would start looking into the chip work now so that you know what to do when you have your new motor in. Without it your car will be a stuttering, spitting, pig rich undrivable dissaster. It is best to familiarize yourself and practice on your 305 so that you become privy to all that chip tuning has to offer. Try a few searches for theads on 350 TBI and 383 TBI set-ups. You will read all about their injector sizes, intakes, heads, and chip work that they went with to get heir combo to run. 250rwhp and 350rw lb-ft of the good stuff are a good goal for a 350+ CI TBI set-up. That can easily put you in the low 13's.
