Braided Fuel Lines from stock tank?
I have a 91 1LE that I've done some major updated/modifications to. I don't know where else this thread should have gone. I want to know if it's possible to run braided fuel lines from the stock 1LE tank to my fuel rails? The reason being, I'm fabbin a true dual exhaust to run down both sides of my driveshaft tunnel and wanted to run braided fuel line above the driveshaft getting away from the exhaust heat. Ideas / comments?

Texas, thanks for the info. I have to take the pump/pickup out next week anyways to drop in the new Walbro. This would be a good time to get the fittings on then. The lines are metal or aluminum? I can't tell by looking at them.

I thought I read that flares/tube nuts couldn't withstand TPI fuel pressure? Or is that compression fittings only? FYI, I'm running a 14lb supercharger with a Walbro 255 pump. I'm estimating my FP will be between 44-80psi.

I am in the process of doing this. I will try and post some pics. But I am running a -08 feed with a -06 return and I got rid of my canister line. I just bought some weld on an fittings and tiged them on the fuel sender.

I am running compression fittings from the stock hardlines on my setup. I don't see them leaking or blowing out, once on they are pretty firm and can't be moved by hand no matter how hard I try. If you tried mechanically to move them you would most likely twist the line or break it before the fitting came off. I run a walbro in tank 255lph at 45 psi idle with 30lb svo injectors.
The 3/8ths and 5/16th fittings can be had from Jegs, 3/8 is always in stock the 5/16 you need to find the P/N at the earls website and punch it in the jegs search block, it is special order.
EDIT: I stand corrected on the special order part, I ordered up some earls 5/16th ones three days ago and they just arrived today, so apparently in stock now, part number on the invoice 0361165056.

don't the orginal fuel sender lines have saginaw fittings already? you're 91 should have 2 already on there. It should be a simple matter of using the same adapter from the fuel lines on the fuel rails:saginaw to -6 or -8. You would have one each of the 14mm and 16mm connections, 2 at the tank, and 2 at the fuel rail hard lines. the only line that is more difficult is the fuel vapor return from the canister. I don't beleive you should have to cut or flare or use any other type of connection other than the saginaw to -6, used for either TBI or TPI.
