Ok so the 350 is in my 84 now, and I personally love how its looking.

But there are some lingering questions that the V6 to V8 swap sticky did not clear up for me.

Will my V6 throttle cable work for the new V8? I realize that my 2.8L Carb had the linkage on the passenger side and now its on the driver side. I could be wrong, but the V6 throttle cable is longer than the V8? If it needs changing, is it possible to use the throttle cable from the 79 Camaro. Also is it very hard to replace?

I had the other question off the top of my head, but I can't seem to remember it now, I'll ask if I remember it lol

The throttle cable isn't very hard to replace. It just snaps into the firewall and has a retainer in the accelerator pedal.

No clue personally if a '79 throttle cable will work. Get a new one from a dealer or used from a junkyard for 3rd gen V8 carb application.

ThUnDeR2005,
Don't know if you NEED to replace it or if your '79 will fit. But we just replaced the cable on our '82 (Cross-Fire) with one from a '86 (Quadra-Bog). Took about 5 minutes.

Remove Pedal & Guard (2-10mm Bolts, so you can reach the side tabs)
UnClip Throttle Cable From Pedal.
Uncover the end and depress tabs on sides.
Push Out into engine compartment.
There is a little tit on the plastic that has to line up, so you can't put it back in wrong.

Sincerely,
Kurt
