getting wiring out after engine swap...
hello all. the following are a few post-engine-swap questions. my dads 86 t/a (originally with the 305 carb) had a 350 carb dropped in a few months back. recently i have been working on/tinkering with it. and he has EVERY original wire left in that car;wires just dangling or tied up somehow.
basically i was wondering the easiest way to get out the wires and computer controlled stuff? he has told me that there is nothing controlled by the computer anymore. i just dont know what is what; what goes, what stays. he just has ac/heater and cruise control.
where/how do i start yankin?

Leave everything on the driver's side alone, concentrate on the pass side. The pass side wires go to the ecm thru the fender & kickpanel. There is a grey conector that connects the underdash side to the engine side. Remove some of the wheel well rivets & screws & move cover back. Disconect the harness there.
The a/c wires will be coming from the firewall w/a vacuum tube along with.

Yes,don't hack anything out until you detitmine that A,it's not hooked to anything, and B,you've tested it to be sure it's not powered.

well i actually havent done much on this yet. i had a few problems with the intake swap. but thats done now.
all i have done so far is remove the ecm, and make sure everything works the same. which it did. except the check engine like came on. but i figure thats normal. ill pull the bulb out eventually.
after looking at some of the wiring, i think this may be harder than i thought. im not up to speed on electrical stuff. all the relays and connectors and gizmoes threw me off. i know a lot will be left for light and a few other things.
hows this sound? i take all the plastic off the harnesses and pull a few wires at a time? this is a mess... im frustrated and tired. thanks for any help.

well my dad just called me from work. his speedo isnt working, all the rest of the gauges are fine. (except the temp gauge, cuz his new thermostat isn't opening
). i am hoping the speedo connection i obviously unhooked was seperate from the ecm. the speedo doesnt use the computer does it?
thanks fellas.
