Hey. I just got a project 88' Formula yesterday that came with a 305tbi. The engine was swapped out at 100k miles to a 350tpi (L98 i believe) five years ago and sat for that amount of time (besides driving around the yard 5 or so times a year). The ECU was swapped as well. The L98 has about 43k miles on the original block, that was swapped out of a wrecked 87 Formula 350. The speedometer doesnt work and the car really pings when running. Like, if I rev it just a bit its got that laggy noise to it, almost like the timing is out of place. This is my first TPI car so Im pretty much clueless as to what it can be. The guy i got it off of said that sometimes when you put it into drive or park or vise versa that it'll stall and start right back up. I appreciate the help if I can find some. So how do I get the speedometer working again and what should I check/fix with the pinging and/or bad timing? Thanks
