305 to 350 tpi swap
hi my name is john i have a 1987 iroc 305 5spd. I am looking for info on swapping a 350 in place of my 305 my biggest concern is. The computer and knock sensor. I have heard that the knock sensor is different do i just put one for a 350 in place or do i have to get a custom one and does the computer have to be caliberated for that knock sensor ? another question is i have heard you must also change the module i am guessing this means the ignition module but correct me if i am wrong. so bassically i need to know what exactly needs to be changed in order for this to work and were to get these things? The motor that is replacing the 305 is a 1987 corvette 350 tpi motor with aluminum heads it also has a roller cam but i do not have that computer.
PLEASE HELP IT WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATIVE.

Welcome aboard.
The knock sensor is located on the passenger side of the block in the coolant drain hole. If you are getting a complete engine from a car, it most likely already/still has the knock sensor on it.
The knock sensor module is mounted on the firewall on the driver's side, all the way in the corner (at least I think that's where they're all mounted - that's where mine is). Two screws, one connector, that's all it takes to replace it.
You shouldn't have to worry about the ignition module or computer.

Personally, I got the one listed in the old HO 350 Camaro Conversion Kit, which used the ZZ4 engine.
One for the '87 Camaro 350 application should be fine. I don't know why the Vette part wouldn't work, I simply haven't heard anything about it.
