I purchased my 350 HO Deluxe from Jeg's for much less than $5000, so price around before you buy. You'll have to ditch the computer--check the following link for a small problem with cruise control:

And some of the accessory bracketry will have to be modified to fit. The motor comes with a flexplate, so if your car is a manuel, you'll need to purchase a flywheel (I went with the GM light weight flywheel). The motor comes with a 14x3 filter. To get my hood to close, I had to reduce the filter to 14x2 1/2. Though this has nothing to do with the motor, I also decided to go from belt to GM dual electric fans. Check this link:

The motor is pretty much a turn-key, so you don't need much:
motor
exhaust manifolds (might as well do exhaust: Hooker heads, Catco hi-flow cat, and Hooker catback)
flywheel (if your car is a manual)
starter (?)
You should be able to use all your accessories and their brackets (though I suspect modification will have to be done--at least my 85 IROC required it).
I don't have a clue on price. All will depend on where you purchase the motor and whether you do it or a shop--and their hourly rate. And there will be a ton of little things, which all cost: hooking up accelerator and cruise, moding the fuel line to carb, finding a banjo bolt so that the air cleaner will fit over the fuel line, locating a 14x2 1/2 filter so that the hood will close. You may find that your motor mounts are shot and need replacement and so on. Long story short, while the motor will pretty much drop into place, there are a ton of expenses that you'll only discover as you proceed.
The whole business was kind of a pain, but the effort is worth it. Baby hauls

How did you hook up the TV cable???
I just put a 350 HO 4bbl into an 82 z28. I have everything hooked up except the TV Cable...the braket won't work or I just don't know how to attach it. I have a holley 600 on it. I also bought one of those aftermarket throttle cable brackets with the dropdown piece on it in hopes that I could attach the cable to it but it still won't reach....anybody know how to solve my little problem? Thanks in advance. Jason

No computer. Use only the part of the stock harness that you require.
