You could get a brand new 290hp 350 here http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommer...521&prmenbr=361 for about $1700. It would probably be cheaper to get a rebuilt 305 but I believe that the 350 would have more possibilities.

dont even waste your time with the 305, no where near what a 350 can do.

You spent $500 for a cat and tips? I hope you had your exhaust replaced to...if you did what size of exhaust did you get?

It is often times more expensive to rebuild a 305 than it is a 350. Even if you have to use your stock 305 parts on the 350 you will be better off in the long run. In the end the cost difference boils down to the small core fee you will pay for a 350 block. You can even skip the rebuild and buy a GM $1200/$1800 LO5/L98 shortblock.

Super-Flo cat was 179.00
V-Force muffler was 174.99
chevy ss tips for 80.00 for both and teh rest was for labor. and the pipes got upgraded to 2 3/4 in cuz 3 woudl not fit right.

i gained alot of horse power. due to the fact my old cat was clogged to the macx and my muffler was shot.
