'87 LB9 to '91 L98
Alright, I'm getting a '91 GTA parts car. I know, it's sad but the car was used by a school for a year. I know the teacher and I know the guy who owned it before, so all is in order. My questions to you are, what do I need to keep for this engine swap to go smoothly? ECM? VATS? Would I just take the steering colume if I need the VATS system? I'm new to the computerized - engine swapping. Give me all the details.
Oh, would it be good to take the 700R4 in the '91 too? I know the rear is the 10 bolt and probably would be weaker than my 9 bolt, but I'll prolly end up taking the Disc Brakes.

Put the L98 longblock under your LB9 TPI system using the L98 injectors and reg. Get a PROM for an '87 L98.
Quick, simple, effective.
The SD system has more tuning capability in the long run, but you have to answer whether that means anything to you.
The '91 TH700 is slightly better than the '87.
