im puting a v8 in my car...so i got a donor car with an engine and mounts and all that stuff...but the car had a th350 in it...and im using a t5...so when i went to put the starter in it wont fit in the hole in the bellhousing...do i have to get a special starter for an fbody...or is it just that the starter from that cambo(froma 73 maro originaly, then swaped into the donor maro) will not work with a new bellhousing...any help would be great...

thx

You need a starter for an automatic, and for the size of flexplate used.

Most likely the application for whatever the transmission came out of will work.

let me clear this up a bit...i was in a hurry when i posted the first time...

the donor car a bought had a 350 and a auto trans(th350) from a 73 camaro in it.

but im running a t5...not that trany that came with the engine

so when i went to put the starter from the donor car on it fit in the bellhousing ok...but would not line up with the block...so i tyed with a few other starters we have at our shop but they wont even fit in the bellhousing at all

and this block is drilled for both starter paternes...

not sure if this helps at all...but its the best i can do...all try and get pic so show what i mean...

thx

Okay, I guess I skimmed over your original post too quickly.

You need a starter for a T5 application 3rd gen. I assume you used a 153-tooth flywheel.
