5.0 to 5.7 engine swap

I swaped the 305 out of my 87 iroc z28 TPI to a 350. A slightly larger cam was put in, but not too big to be beyond the computers capabilities. A new PROM was also put in, along with a computer to match the 5.7. All the smog componets were removed also. It ran ok for a while, not like I thought it should but ok. I drove it like this for 4 or 5 thousand miles. I ran over a 2x4 1 day and it all went to pot. Now the car runs like crap when it's cold and like dookie when it's warm. It has 2 codes showing: mass air flow high and mass air flow low. A mechanic said the computer is too slow to keep up with cam but after showing him the specs. he said it's the right cam.
If someone has had the same problem and found a solution please share it with me.

Make sure the MAF burnoff relay is working, that could be the whole problem.

Are you refering to the MAF power relay, or is there another relay for the MAF? Exactly where is it? I replaced the MAF power relay.
