3rd or 4th gen

i have an 86 irocz and i want a ls1, and now that the funds are gonna be coming in i can do what i want. I just cant decide if i want to put it in my iroc or just go and get a 4th gen ls1. I really love the looks of my iroc but a 4th gen is newer and dosent need the body and interior work as my iroc. But in the end the iroc will be way better, i know in the end i will make the decision but i want to know what anybody thinks and any opinions.

Your probably in the wrong place to ask that question.
If I liked 4th gens better,I probably wouldn't be HERE,now would I?

To do an LS1 swap you will need $4k to $6k of green. Sometimes it is easier to finance an $9k LS1 car so that you can enjoy a reliable 350+ hp right now.

yeah i knew everybody on here loves third gens or cant afford a 4th gen, and i love 3rd gens myself. I think i could get the best of both worlds with the ls1 in my iroc because i would get the looks of the 3rdgen with the performance and technology of the ls1. I just figured id get on here and see what everybodys opinions were on the subject.

The Board owner loves 3rd gens, and has declared that discussions are to be tech related and 3rd gen related. So, we can do what is required to talk you into keeping your 3rd gen, but we aren't allowed to give any positive testimony on 4th gens...

Ive pretty much decided to put a ls1 in my iroc the looks cant be beat and a 3rdgen will be faster with a ls1 than a 4th gen. Plus ive researched here and alot of people have done it and i think all help i would need will be right here. So, sorry to cause a rucus. BTW 4th gens suck.

No problem. Problem with internet bulletin boards is you can't always see the tongue firmly implanted in the cheek...

My appologies sir I have owned both (well actually an LT1 car) and the 4th gens may not look as good but they are amazing performers out of the box. They are easy to pay for and have a lot of nice features.

However, you will be happy to know that I sold it so that I can focus on a scary set-up for my RS.
