Sorry if I'm posting this. I used the but I couldn't find it. I have a 91 Camaro RS. I wanna know if a ZZ383 crate will fit in my car with no fabrication just slip in.

it will bolt right up to your trans, so yes it will fit.

Not to a T-5.....what would you recommend for a manual tranny?



im happy that i can have a 383 in my camaro without fabrication

It will bolt up to your t5 but you will need a different flywheel. You could go t56 but that gets spendy. I know I just got mine done.

Keep an eye on the parts for sale. One usally pops up every couple of weeks. And there is always ebay. This is how much my t56 swap cost.
T56 w/bellhousing - $800.00 (TGO board) used
Flywheel - $350.00 (Jegs) new
Clutch - $250.00 (Jegs) new
Hydrolics - $150.00 (ebay) new
Stock shifter - $40.00 (ls1tech.com) used
Aluminum spacer for the slave cylinder - $50.00 (Hawks) new
Crossmember - $100.00 (Spohn) new
Peddle assembally - $40.00 (TGO board) used
Miss. Bolts ect. - $15.00 new
Total - $1795.00
Now you could maybe do it cheaper. The spacer and shifter didnt come with the trans. You may get one that has thiese parts. But I think that is a good estimate on the swap.

Thanks, Im guessing a T56 can handle 500ftlbs of torque. But if i get that ZZ383, than the tranny would be almost at its limit wouldnt it?

Well the limit depends on how you drive it. I have a buddy who is putting down 425 hp to the wheels through a stock t56 and its even a 93 trans. (93 had weeker trans. If your going to get one look for a 94-97 trans.

thanks man, youve been very helpful. Just a few more things. Can my existing power steering pump, a/c pump and alternator on my 305 can be transfered to a zz383??? aswell as intake manifold and throttle body?

Yes all accesories will bolt up. As for the TBI. I would think about ditching it. If you can go with a mpi system do that. Otherwise I would think about switching to carb. But my vote would be for fuel injection
