L98 to 355 4-bolt motor mount Q
I currently have an L-98 in my IROC and I am going to be putting in a 1974 350 4-bolt main in a couple months. I need to know if the motor mounts are going to work, I figure they would since I am going from a 350 to another 350. Even if they do work would any of you suggest I buy new ones?

262, 267, 283 ('58-later), 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 396, 400, 402, 427, 454 - all will mount up with the stock mounts.
It's a good idea to replace the chassis side while you've got things apart. I used poly myself, which only included the puck inside the mount shells. You need to drill out the rivets holding the shell together, put in the new "mount", bolt them back to the crossmember.

It does make one wonder why you're going from a later 350 to a less capable earlier 350...

The reason is that my L-98 either broke a rod or spun the bearings, which is what I have been told but I haven't actually tore the motor down. My buddy is selling the motor from his s10 and it went 11.60s on motor and 10.80s on a 150 shot with AFR 180cc heads, which do not come with the motor. It went 12.30s with 200cc sportsman IIs and I'm going with Iron Eagles so I should be low 12s (hopefully).
Oh, and thanks for the info
, and about the user name, I didn't spend too much time looking through posts before I joined so don't think I'm trying to copy ya, lol.

Well, with a questionable block and available ready-to-go block, that makes sense. Had to ask, though, as some people don't make the most well thought-out decisions.
I'd highly recommend the poly mounts (and poly everything that's currently rubber).
