need help
i am thinking of buying a 90 camaro at an excellent price, what all will i need to wire around to get it to run , i will be putting a carbed 350 in it, i know i will run a mechanical pump on the motor, so what will i have to do about the fuel pump, just drop the tank and pull it out, also does a 90 model have any security stuff like vats

so basically all i need to do is get an old hei, i got a brand new one already, put a piece of hose where the in-tank fuel pump was, and put a couple of wires on the distributor, so what does the computer in it really do? tell the fuel pump to pump fuel

That, and tell the fuel injection how much to inject, the ignition when to spark, the A.I.R. where to direct the flow, the EGR when to open, the torque converter when to lock. . .

what about VAT's, does it have it integrated in the computer, or is it seperate

If your going carb the vats shouldnt be a problem unless it disables your starter relay.... which im sure is possible to wire around. i think VATS disables the starter relay and cuts off the injecters/fuelpump. so if your going carb and you change the fuel pump then vats could only disable your starter.
