Hey Stephen 87 IROC,
I was checking out your site again and was wondering if I could ask a few questions.
1. I know your car is a race car but could it be street driven with the V6 springs? I would like to keep mine for the stance if possible (BBC).
2. "Rear tires Mickey Thompson 29.5 x 10.5 slicks with some inner fender modifications to get them to fit. Mounted on 15 x 10 Weld Draglite's with 5.5" backspace."
How much banging did you have to do to get em tucked in and where at?
My car looks like yours but MUCH MUCH slower looking. I would like to get my stance and wheel setup like yours though.
I appreciate your input,
Scott

1: Springs all depend on the spring rate and the weight put on the springs. My front end is about as light as a V6 car is. There's not a lot of factory excess weight under the hood any more.
2: Depends how far you want to go. The rear of my fender opening is cut away with a recipricating saw. The inner fender was pinched together along the edge then it was filled on the inside with a Manus body caulking. A more professional job would be to cut off the fender lip, remove a section of fender then reweld the lip back on to the new position. When done, you wouldn't be able to tell the opening was modified.
On the inner part, the spare tire dent on the passenger side has been driven back in with a BFH.
The bump stops have been cut off with most of the sheet metal around the springs. A piece of sheet metal is then welded back over the opening for a smoother look and it doesn't stick out as much.
At the front, the complete lower lip of the inner fender is cut off just below the floor from the inside of the outer fender right to the edge of the frame rails.

Well, maybe I should opt for a set of springs. The only thing I will remove from the front is the steele hood (unless I go with a steele scoop), power steering and change the radiator. I may re-locate the battery to the rear but I had a bad encounter with that on my last car.
I appreciate all the info on the wheel wells!
I am gonna get the same size you have but in the Pro-Star.
I have had the Drag-Lites twice and would just like to try something else. I wish I could afford Bogarts, I really like the way they look. I was going to get a set of the Weld XP Stars that look like the Bogarts but Weld sent me an email confirming that they are discontinued.
Thanks again Stephen!

Racing rims are not street friendly. They're very lightweight and thin and don't go well with potholes or curbs. Just be careful what you buy.
