Motor Swap. Couple ??
Hey guys, I'm a new member to the boards. I have a 91 Firebird Formula w/ a 305 tbi, in which I will be swapping in a 355. Now I have a few questions.
I am buying a shortblock from www.jrmotorsports.com and I dont know what year of block they use. Second, I am swapping out my 700R4 for a T-56. What do i do about the flywheel situation. I'm kind of new to this stuff so any help is greatly appreciated. I will be using a T-56 out of an lt1 car. How do I know what block jrmotorsports uses? Will the T-56 bolt up?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
I'd suggest e-mailing JR Motorsports. You'll get an answer you can actually believe, that way; instead of somebody else's guess.
Yes the T-56 will bolt up; as long as you use a Chevy V8 block.
If you get a 86-up block, use a stock T-56 flywheel for LT1. If you use a 85-back block, you'll have to get the $special$ conversion flywheel, such as this one from Centerforce. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=CTF%2D700107

Thanks for the help. I hope it is a 1 piece block, that would make my life easier. I just need to track down a T-56.
