ign problems with swap
Hey guys just went from a computer controlled carb setup to a non ccc and i have no power to the ingition when i turn the key to acc no lights come on or the guages dont move at all i have power to the headlights and interior lights and thats about it. I also ripped out the comptuer the computer is gone and the harness to the engine bay but the harness in the dash is still there. I am guessing that there is a wire in the harness in the dash from the computer that i need to splice into and give power to it. thanks in advance hope ya can help me out.

well that doesnt make sense,
as the feed to the HEI BATt terminal has nothing to do with the computer harness, and is in a whole different harness opposite side of the car
i am unsure where the factory BATT HEI wire feeds power from, i assume the ignition switch,
might possibly have a bad switch, or damage to the wire
check for those
if not then you may have to run a wire from ignition port on the fuse panel to the HEI
put a 15amp inline fuse somewhere in the wire though
this is how you convert from points to HEI on the 74 older vehicles
but still doesnt explain why you have nothing else
did you cut a main red feed wire under the hood anywhere from alternator or starter ? 10 or 12 guage
you should have only cut wires going into the far pass side cowl/fender
the big fat round harness
and nothing else
you can pull this entire harness out of the car and not affect a single wire for the starter or igniotion or alternator or temp sender or oil sender, or a/c compressor, etc
good luck
