305 into a 84 V6

305 into a 84 V6
can i use the same 700r4 tranny with a 305? its the MD8 tranny code, but i have heard it wont work with a V8, is this true?

Nope - can't do it - you need a V8 tranny. And if going to the trouble of a V8 swap, I'd highly reccomend a 350 instead. I've got one of each, and the 305 is just no fun in comparison - the wife's minivan full of kids leaves the 305 in the dust!

im going for a 305 since its cheaper, and its only for the wifes daily driver, dont need a 350. just didnt see the sense in putting another 2.8 in it. thanks for the answer.

3.4l would probably be cheaper and easier. If the wife isn't out for all-out power, not a bad choice.
