what do you all think of this setup,350 4 bolt main,.30 over, flat top pistons, new heads with 202,160 stainless valves,300 lunati camshaft, edlebrock performer intake, shorty headers,as far as a carb have not decided yet, with a 5 spd trans,vs. a stock 305.

sounds like the combo is a little mismatched. what heads, what cam specs, what trans, what rear gear, what carb? etc etc. you left out a lot there.
the cam specs are as follows, .515 in,.515 ex lift at valve, duration at .050 tappet lift 246 in, 246 ex,advertised duration is 300 in,300 ex.as far as the heads have a casting number of 434.

that's a big cam. high rpm motor.
edelbrock performer manifold is more low end. shorty headers, more low end. hence, slightly mismatched.
should run fine, given that much info.... pretty lumpy though.

excuse me,i typed it wrong.
the paper that came with the intake said it was from idle to 5500 rpm

idle to 5500 is a low rpm intake. the victor jr. which would be better suited for that cam is 3000-7500 rpm suggested range since it has such a large duration. also I hope the heads you're running will flow enough to have that cam be worthwhile. Also you'll need big/steep rear gears to get that cam into a happy RPM range to drive it.
