Is the 350 swap worth it?
I currently have a 92Z28 with a 305TPI. I'm thinking of doing a swap to a 350. I understand that I'll need a few new things to make the swap work. I'd like to be able to find someone in this area who won't charge an arm and a leg to do it. I can do it myself, but really just don't have the time, and this is my daily driver. Or; should I look for a 4th Gen camaro with a 5.7? Any thoughts on what you would do and what do you think the swap would cost? Thanks.

I would say it's not worth paying someone to do.
If it's your daily driver, there really isn't any particular benefit to the swap.
If, on the other hand, you want to increase the fun factor, only you can decide how much that is worth.
Why not a 5.7l 3rd gen?

like 5/7 said if you wanna swap to a 350 its really more worth it to do it yourself. But you should drive a 350 3rd gen and your 305 will feel slooooow compared to it. But its all in if its worth it for you and its your daily driver so its up to you. If it wasd me id say go for it cuz of the power and potential. Either way i have a 350 in my 89 GTA right now and ill be pulling it in the next 2-3 months for my 468 thats going in (aint my daily driver for sure) so if youre interested in a 350 w/ 40k miles, hasnt been abused let me know im probly gonna let it go for like 1200-1300. Just dynoed it today at my school actually and w/ headers and a cutout it put out 298 lbs/ft and 213 hp. w/ mufflers 296lb/ft and 207 hp. good luck man

I have no dought the 350 swap is a good bet, its just finding the time to do it. At the same time I'v noticed the prices on the 93 thru 97 4th gen camaro's are going down. It makes me think if the 4th gen would be better money spent.
ive definitely noticed the same that 4th gen prices are going down, **** theyre all almost 10 years old. For me personally, its about the look of the thirdgen especially the gTA which is why i wanted one. A 4th gen would definitely be awesome, of course w/ an LT1. So decide on whatever car you like more, LT1s are a different kinda drive as they make their power more on the top end and of course stock for stock theyre faster

Axle/Gears: you name it
if your 305 has good milage put a supercharger on it
its about the same cost as if you put in a new engine and when the engine does go then use the supercharger again on your new 350 and zoom!!

I'v thought about a supercharger. The engine is in pretty good shape for the mileage. It currently has 110,000 on it. Maybe I should look more into it. Thanks for the suggestion.
