2.8L to carb'd 305

In my 86 camaro i have a2.8L and i saw a carb'd 305 for sell 250 bucks (canadian) i want to know if it's a good deal

Not really. If it's in good shape, maybe it'd be ok, if your V6 was dying. But if you're going to a V-8, might as well do it right, and get a 350, and perhaps put some performance parts in it, during the swap.

A 2.8 to a 5.0 would be a pretty good upgrade if you can do it cheaply enough, and you'd certainly enjoy the added power, especially with your 3.42's. However, as Sonix points out, if you can afford the 350, swap it in now and perhaps save yourself time and expense in the long run (words of advice I need to take myself from time to time).

Darn, I missed the 5-minute edit restriction.

Too bad you're not closer to Kansas. I swapped out my 305 last summer. It has a nice cam, Edelbrock intake, some carb tweeks (DR rods and G hanger), an L69 dual snorkel set-up and a full L69 exhaust. Needs a rear seal. Still ran very strong.
