Keep in mind im a total novice and am 20 years old working at Pep Boys, and this car (1991 Camaro RS) being my only means of transportation makes it that much difficult to get this car up and running. Don't worry, you know me I always post lots of pics and write ups especially when I did DELETED the A/C. If I fail to execute this project I will have no choice but to pay someone to do it for me, but never the less I will take lots of pictures and post lots of write ups along with the pictures explaining what is going on.

Im thinking if I should rebuild this engine.... Since I got my Camaro to run properly now I bought a new fuel injector for it and it runs fine, but there is a a loss of power.
What do you guys think should I rebuild it? If I do decide Im going to add in new ACCEL INJECTORS get a 383 Stroker kit, open up the heads, send it to a machine shop dont know how much thats going to cost me...
I took some stuff off I dont think I will need since I dont have A/C
Don't know if I will need to replace the fly wheel to fit the 700r4?
Some how im going to have to make this work...
Don't know if I need this?
Took the a/c device off I know I wont need this
Here how it looks after removed..

Well, the one piece you said you didn't know if you needed it is the power steering pump. You will also need to get the AC delete pully for the LT1 to make the belt route correctly.

Klortho, you are a big help I appreciate your knowledge and advice greatly and everyone else who helps me out on here. I have decided to hold off on the swap until my savings account reaches 3k, reason being is Im going to buy everything I need Including:
383 Stroker Kit
LT1 Fuel Pump
Gaskets needed for the rest of the overhaul
New Water pump/Sarter/Ignition Control Module/Alternator/Injectors/Wire Harness/Headers/Spark Plug Wires/Spark Plugs/Serpentine Belt/Oil Dip Stick/Thermostat Housing/Thermostat/Valves/Lifters/ Radiator/ Electric Dual Fans/Roller Rockers Thats about it I think..
Also Im going to have it machined at some shop I know to accomidate the bigger pistons.
I have never rebuilt an engine in my life other than this lawn mower engine hah...with enough reading and knowledge I think I can rebuild this engine with some help from my third gen brothers!
If someone could please let me know what critical tools I will need, I pretty much have an idea what tools I need of course but if there are any specific tools I need please let me know. The teardown Begins Tommorow, I will post plenty of pics.

3 grand won't cover a rebuild going to a 383 with every thing you want to do.
If you know it ran before then I would drop it in and run with it. (acutally thats what I'm doing)

word from the wise:
with this kinda swap, spend $1000 of your $3000 on a crappy car to putt around town so you don't have to rush the project. with as much re-wiring this car will require to use the lt1, i'd say it's gonna take a novice MUCH longer than a weekend to do...even with someone helping you that's experienced.

Change of Plans - The 383 Project has been dropped
I will just buy high performence replacement parts and not do a 383 conversion. Seen how alot of you are saying a fella like myself is actually getting into a big hole. I understand this.. so now I will choose just to do the common essential upgrades of just a bigger cam, lifters, rockers, pistons.rods ect.
Are there any recommendations on what LT1 High Performence kits are out there and which would be best to get the most HP out of my engine, this car will be driven only on weekends.
Any advice would be greeat! thanks guys!

What are you looking to do with it? Your car gonna stay TB injected? If you want to have possible hp numbers down on paper before starting the project let me know. I've got mathmatic formulas that will tell you possible Hp based off of cylinder head flows at specfic lifts. Thats where all the power lies. Heads and cam..

Thats easy just do a cc306 with ported heads and a good exhaust. Very common great results and pretty cheap too.

LT1 – LE2Head/cam package will pull from 2,300 to 6,500 RPM and should make *400 – 420 RWHP with 30/36 lb. injectors, 58 MM T.B., 1 ¾ LT’s, no cats, good tuning, etc. This will have an idle similar to the CC306 cam but will make more HP & TQ across the board. The REAL difference is the amount TQ this cam makes in the 2,500 – 3,500 RPM range compared to the CC306.
LE2 Heads consist of:
Ferrea 200/1.56 Valves
CM Retainers & 10° Locks
Comp Bee Hive Springs
205 CC Intake Port
Milling
Cleaning
Assembly
Flow about 275/190
Ready To Bolt On
*The HP#’s mentioned are typical for an F-body with 6 speed, stock rear and with ALL of the complimenting parts mentioned.
LE2 Head/Cam Package - $1,750 plus shipping. $1,400 for Heads only.
I've been sitting idle for a while now, I think I will just save up for that package you see above. I have paced myself, I was stressing my self out saving my money and not spending it on anything.. but my camaro runs fine right now, even though I feel a loss of horsepower when I punch it.. it somehow does'nt take off like it did a few months ago...anyhow I will save money for the LE2 head and cam package seems like a good deal and its under $2k. Has anyone actually purchased any of these LE packages? Does anyone have any pictures, I would like to see some visuals just to get a little gander of what im buying. Thanks for the link 92rs85berlintta
A question, after I get this package, would I need to get new pistons, rods, rockers, timing chain or could I use the stock ones??

you will need harder pushrods, timing set and you might want to get a your crank checked and possibly throw new bearings in it. The stock bottom end is fine for the LE2 package. search camaroz28.com for more info on the le2 package you will be impressed.

The cc306 is made by comp cams and is one of the best cams made for the lt1. However the LE 2 cams produce like amounts of hp but maintain more torque across the board.
You can try to search the classifieds here or on ebay. Try camaroz28.com as well.
