2 bolts are not that strong at all.
That is the reason they went to 4 bolt on alot of the higher HP cars/trucks...
The rear main, they are all 2 piece till 86/87 then they went 1 piece.

There's nothing wrong w/ using a 2 bolt in a performance application. With good bolts or studs, your good to 500+ horsepower.
$75 isn't a bad price,as long as the guy will make good on the money if the machine shop tells you it's junk.

Nothing good or bad about the particular block.
As a street use machine which isnt going to see 1000Hp a 2bolt is PLENTY strong enough. A 4bolt is not at all much stronger than the 2bolt block but it does keep the crank from walking.
If you want a bulletproof block get that 2bolt splayed to 4. But it is totally unneccesary in a street use application not to mention the cost of machining.
Its a good buy so long as their is no major damage to the block. It will most likely need to be align honed and bored before you can do anything with it though.

People were making a lot more than 400 HP on factory 2-bolt main, small journal SBC's before 1968. Of course, those cranks were steel, but the mains were all 2-bolt.
I 2nd Irocz's recommendation.
