GM Perf. Plus vs. Edelbrock
GM Perf. Plus vs. Edelbrock
ok guys, I have an old and tired LG4. Time to put her to bed. I've been working hard and saving my pennies for a crate engine to revive my Iroc. I've done research on both and am still confused with which one to go with. If I had the skills I'd build my own but I don't so crate it is. I'm looking for 350-400HP. Any input on which engine to go with would be greatly appreciated.

To the sale price add the core charge, shipping charge (probably around $300), and fork lift fee. You'll have to use your existing tin (oil pan, valve covers, etc.), and rear main seal carrier. Be sure to tell them you want 083 casting heads. They'll upgrade the cam for you as well.

id vote for GMPP, seems like you get more hp for the money. im not a big fan of edelbrock parts anyway.
You know, I have an Edelbrock carb, I gotta admit, I love the thing, but myself I'm starting to lean towards the GMPP engine. Personally, I've had no probs with Edelbrock, but, just like you said, it seems like you're paying alot more money for the same HP.

I have the zz4 and love it but why not go with the 383HT or zz383. 425hp and 460ftlbs sounds really nice. You could do the 383HT and do a cam swap.At some point the zz4 will feel slow once you get used to it.Start off with more cubes. Also GM has the 383 shortblock as well.

and trans,rear and susp. upgrades
PS i have not had troubles with edelbrock just that i know people that have had edelbrock AND others on the same engine (for intakes and carbs) and the others gave better times.
