Which requires less modification? Tranny VS Engine
Which requires less modification? Tranny VS Engine
First I want to say I've always loved the body of the third gen camaro's and tran am's. I have plans to get one by in the near future (have the money, just have to settle on a car). Now I know the 350 never came with the T5, so which of these swaps is most cost efficient?
Swap a 350 into a 305/T5 Car
OR
Swap a T5 into a 350/Auto Car ---> or T56 into a 350/Auto Car (may as well ask
)
Thanks for helping the new guy.

I'd say the engine would be easier. Time spent standing on your head under the dash is never a good thing, as far as I'm concerned.

I was in your shoes, wanted a 350 with a manual tranny. I got a 305 IROC with a 5 speed and I just finished an engine swap, ended up with a 350. Although a lot of work it was definitely do-able. My 350 came out of a corvette so there were quite a few modifications I had to do. If you get a 350 out of a Camaro, everything should bolt right up. Hope this helps.
