305tbi to 454 big block
is this conversion possible without fabrication? will a 454 bolt right up to my 305tbi motor mounts? are any modifications necessary to make a 454 fit in my 91 camaro rs? thanks alot.

A BBC will bolt to factory mounts and the trans (if you have a stick forget the BB) it will never hold the power, hedders are available "Hookers" but they aren't cheep their are others that can be made to fit but some fabrication is neccessary, and no stock manifolds will work also the intake is too tall without a cowl hood , and the conversion works better with the A/C box removed , it's not a hard swap but will require some minor mods to get everything working correctly ... but if you are looking for a no work direct swap then NO it wont work well for you ..

victor jr intake is supposed to fit under the factory hood in some cases i've read and also the torker II intake as well.

i am also considering with my 305 TBI...can get a 454 out of an 81 truck for real cheap and was wondering if its worth it...i looked at the whole fitment guide thing and it doesnt seem to hard besides the exhaust clearance i still want it to be streetable though...just sounds like a fun idea I also need help!! thanks

They can be made streetable fairly easily the main thing is spending some time setting up the cooling system with a good aftermarket radiator with enough capacity to properly cool the BB with the limited frontal area available to draw air into the radiator , the exhaust is the other major issue as there limited #s of hedders available to fit and the ones that are cost $$$ or require mods to fit... Im working on trying to fit a set of patriot mid length hedders on my car for better clearence ... they have been used by a couple of other guys and work but are ones that require mods to fit ... but they are only $150.00 a set so the cost is right for the amount of work to make them fit (Hookers are $400+) and even they dont fit quite right ...
