what to do? need your help

i can't seem to decide what i'm going to do to my 91 rs. there are so many options. should i build up my lo3 with a lt1 cam, better cylinder heads, exhaust(hedders to tips), some tbi mods(maybe a larger unit) better intake etc. or swap in a 350tbi and do similar mods? or just go lt1 and exhaust and be at my goal 300fwhp 325+ tq? i have a 700r4 tranny(stock) and 2.73 non-posi rearend? probably going 3.42 and posi possibly discs. what would you do?

Step 1: Define your performance and usage goals.
Step 2: Determine your budget.

Sometimes you need to reverse Step 1 and Step 2. You are part-way there with Step 1, but without Step 2, pretty much any suggestions would be meaningless.

You know what they say: "Tell me how much money you have, and I'll tell you how fast you can go."

buy an LT1 car then.

or put the 2500 down on a 99+ fbody.. they're getting pretty low now... if its well taken care of, i wouldnt hesitate on a 100k+ car...

reply to Mr. DUDE

i hate the looks of the lt1 cars (excepts ss). only reason i'd buy one is to take the seats, rearend, engine and maybe trans(kinda be a donor car, then sell rest for parts or to a junkyard) i like third gens much better, just wish mine was quicker, more powerful. i wanna be on par or close to 99-2004 gt (260 hp ???tq)

nowdays you can buy a complete lt1 w/ wiring harness for under 1400. i purchased mine, had i think 40k miles ruffly, with the harness shipped from wisconsin <i live in va> for under 1400 dollars, i did pop the heads off. everything was clean and shiny. no sludge what so ever. ofcourse with a mod like this expect some side expenses. ex. new shorty headers, new y-pipe, radiator hoses, new fuel pump <tpi 3rd gens will work but would recommend upgrading it> pcm tuning"at 100 dollars" as you can see youll spend several hundred more in nickle/dime extras, i busted the solenoid on mine and had to purchase a new started at like 160 dollars too. price adds up quick. and depending on the year lt1. 93 lt1s you can use your current 700r4, 94+ use 4l60es.<500 dollars there> all tho you can actually use 700r4's on 94+ it just complicates matters, doing a search should pretty much sum up whats envolved on the swap and costs. i ended up spending about 2 grand on mine.
