Engine Swap Help
I have a 3.1 V6 91 RS Camaro and I am looking for anyone who has successfully swapped out this engine for a V8. I am also debating on which V8 to swap in 350 or 305. I don't know to much about what goes into this project and any information that anyone would be willing to put in would be great. I am looking for an engine that I can drive (relatively cheaply) and still have fun with on the weekends. Also my pockets arent to deep so I am also looking for any money saving tips/techniques. I am near the Cincinnati area so any performance parts stores near there would be great too. This is my first project car and first car. Thanks again. maro91

Everyone is going to tell you a 305 is a waste of your time. If you get a 305 you're going to want a 350 eventually. It's just bigger and badder and there's parts for 'em everywhere for cheap.
HOWEVER....
If you're realy on a tight budget, people have a hard time GIVING 305's away, you could get a nice 305 for pocket change.

about 200 bucks will get you a good runing and tottally complete 305 from a yard
try and get a vin G L69 HO305 one though, 190 horse instead of 140 or 150 horse LG4 vin H and 7
i bought a vin H 305 LG4 out of a yard the other day for 200 but its a really nice running one and im thinking about putting L69 pistons and a stock replacement 350 cam in it and at the same time a new set of std. bearings

Now is the time to buy Fast68's 400... it's for sale!!! 500 bucks is a great price for a complete stock runner.
You'll be happy you did!
